My Year of Healthy - week 12

Food Combinations…What works for You?

Would you feel better if you eliminated certain foods?

Some people thrive eating only plants and healthy starches and cut out animal protein and all sources of fat as seen in the community of people inspired by the Starch Solution. ( A book by John A. McDougall)

Others thrive cutting out starches and load up on animal protein and fats as seen on the keto and paleo diets.

Is it possible that the combinations of foods we eat make a difference?

No one diet works for everyone.

Would you feel better eating one way over another?

The only way to know is to try.

Of course it may be that neither extreme eating style works best and a healthy diet made up of everything in moderation makes the most sense (food freedom trending and a hot topic) …but the only way to know is to try.

In pursuit of what works best for me I am going to meet with a nutritionist that specializes in metabolic insights this week. (Something I have been curious about.)

What does that mean exactly I don’t know yet, but I do look forward to finding out! (and sharing)

Currently, I do find my energy levels are best when combining a low carb diet with intermittent fasting.

That being said I have been curious about trying a plant based vegan diet and eating more potatoes which are one of my favorite foods. (More on that later on)

With Spring starting tomorrow I am proud to share that my New Year's Resolution to add in healthy, easy and realistic habits is still going strong. With any goal, keep them simple. (make your goal doable so you can be consistent)

I am working out at least 3 days a week with both cardio and strength training.

Doing at least 12-14 hours of fasting daily. (except for a few days on vacation)

Aiming for at least 8 glasses of water or decaf green tea daily
